1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the Tabs Manager Chrome extension (the "extension") and of this website (the "site"). The extension helps you organize your open tabs: tabs listed by site and by window, quick access, bookmarks, history, notes and todo lists, page load times, a media player and developer tools (PHP functions, icons, CSS generators, components).
By installing or using the extension, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, uninstall the extension from chrome://extensions.
2. Publisher and data controller
The extension and the site are published by Christophe Paulet, sole proprietor (entrepreneur individuel, EI), trading as "Crispy Medias", 31 avenue du Général Gallieni, 93250 Villemomble, France. SIRET: 534 502 992 00017. Email: contact@crispy-medias.fr.
Christophe Paulet is also the data controller. As explained in section 4, the extension does not send any personal data to the publisher.
3. Use of the extension
The extension is offered under the conditions (price, license) shown on its Chrome Web Store page, for personal or professional use, in Google Chrome (or a compatible browser). You agree to use it in accordance with applicable laws and with Google's terms for the Chrome Web Store.
You may not modify, decompile, resell or redistribute the extension without the written consent of Crispy Medias, except to the extent permitted by law.
4. Data and privacy (extension)
All of the extension's data stays on your device. Crispy Medias does not collect, receive or sell any personal data. The extension uses no account, no server and no analytics.
The following is stored locally, in your Chrome profile:
- your settings (theme, display options, duplicate behavior, automatic closing…);
- your quick access links, bookmark namespaces and favorite icons;
- your notes (general and per favorite) and the todo lists you create for each site (title, description, done state);
- the state of the developer tools (last code entered, selected icon set);
- the list of media recently played in the player (link, title, thumbnail);
- for the current session only: load times, preview information and media playback state of open pages (see section 5). This data is deleted when the browser is closed.
This data is deleted when you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data. The "Export" button in the settings saves it to a file on your computer; this file is never uploaded anywhere.
Exception: when you open the "Noto animated" icon set, emoji images are loaded from Google's servers (fonts.gstatic.com). As with any web resource, Google then receives your IP address and the usual technical details of the request.
Media player: when you paste a YouTube, Dailymotion, Spotify or SoundCloud link in the player, the extension asks that service for the title and thumbnail of the media (oEmbed) and plays it in that service's embedded player. That service then receives the link, your IP address and the usual technical details of the request, and its own privacy policy applies. Nothing is sent to Crispy Medias.
5. Requested permissions
Chrome shows the following permissions at installation. They are used only for the features described:
- Tabs (
tabs) - List, activate, move, group and close your tabs; copy the link of the active tab.
- Side panel (
sidePanel) - Show Tabs Manager in Chrome's side panel.
- Bookmarks (
bookmarks) - Show and manage bookmark namespaces in the panel.
- History (
history) - Show recent history in the panel. It is neither copied nor sent anywhere.
- Storage (
storage) - Save your settings and the session data described in section 4.
- Site icons (
favicon) - Show each site's icon, provided by Chrome's cache.
- Navigation (
webNavigation) - Know when a page starts loading, to reset its load time, preview and playback state.
- Network rules (
declarativeNetRequest) - Add a Referer header to the YouTube player embedded by the extension (and only to it), which YouTube requires to play videos in an extension.
- Media services (
youtube.com,youtube-nocookie.com,dailymotion.com,open.spotify.com,soundcloud.com) - Get the title and thumbnail of the media you paste in the player, and play it.
- Access to websites (
httpandhttpspages) - A small script runs on the pages you visit to read the load times provided by the browser (server response time, time until the page is ready) and the page's public metadata (title, description, keywords, sharing image) used for the hover preview. Another script detects audio and video playing on the page so the panel can show a playing badge, and plays, pauses or mutes them only when you click those buttons. These scripts do not read your form contents, passwords or cookies, and do not change page content. This information stays in the browser session and is not sent to anyone.
6. Closing and merging tabs
Depending on your settings, the extension can automatically close inactive tabs and close duplicate tabs. A closed tab may cause unsaved data to be lost (a form in progress, a draft…). You remain responsible for these settings; we recommend checking them before enabling them. Pinned tabs and tabs playing audio are not closed as duplicates.
7. This website
The site presents the extension and its documentation. It does not require an account and does not sell any data.
Contact form. When you write to us, your name, email address, subject and message are sent to us by email, with the date and the IP address of the sender (used to fight spam). They are used only to answer you and are kept no longer than needed for the exchange, and at most 3 years after the last contact. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3, which analyzes how the page is used to tell humans from robots; Google's privacy policy and terms of service apply.
Cookies. The site uses a session cookie, needed for the security of the contact form, and reCAPTCHA may set its own cookies on the contact page. No advertising cookie is used.
Server logs. As on any website, the server keeps technical logs (IP address, date, page requested) for security and maintenance purposes, for a limited time.
Your rights. Under the GDPR and the French "Informatique et Libertés" law, you can access, correct or delete your data, object to its processing or ask for its portability, by writing to contact@crispy-medias.fr. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
8. No warranty
The extension is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, error-free operation, availability or compatibility with any version of Chrome. Results from the developer tools (emulated PHP functions, generated CSS code, measured load times) are indicative and may differ from real environments.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Crispy Medias shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damage resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the extension or the site, including the loss of data, tabs or bookmarks. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Intellectual property
The extension, its code, its name, this site and the Crispy Medias logo belong to Crispy Medias. The extension includes third-party components under their own licenses, including Font Awesome Free, Bootstrap Icons, Glyphicons Halflings, Noto emoji, jQuery, Tailwind CSS and daisyUI.
11. Changes
These terms may change, in particular when new features are added. The current version is the one published on this page, with its last updated date.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable settlement, any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts, subject to the mandatory consumer protection rules that apply to you.
13. Contact
For any question about the extension, the site or these terms, use the contact form or write to contact@crispy-medias.fr.
